Mariia Bonchuk (born in 1997) is a young artist from Kremenchuk, Ukraine. She studied ceramics, including traditional Ukrainian ornaments, techniques, and forms, at college and interior design at a university in Kyiv. In 2016, she relocated to Tallinn, Estonia, where she began working on illustrations, prints, paintings, ceramics, and sculpture.
In her work, she delves into her emotions and aims to convey her experiences with different states of mind. Inspired by the beauty of the human mind, she seeks to translate emotions into powerful and colourful impressions on canvas. Since moving to Tallinn, she has utilized her existing knowledge to develop her artistic style while exploring new techniques and art forms. Her artwork explores a wide range of emotions stemming from her experience with bipolar disorder, as she studies extreme emotions and seeks inner peace through delving into them.
